Clarity - What’s Happening
Happy Winning Wednesday,
I'm sorry I haven't been able to respond to every message. I see how many of you are asking what is going on, and I do believe that the fellow Christ Warriors need clarity to take it to God. So here is a synopsis of what's happening.
Truthfully, this whole situation shows me nothing more than my own disobedience. I wasn't truly using my full discernment, and I didn't act accordingly. I'm owning that before I say anything else.
What follows is my own experience, in my own words. I'm not sharing this to tear anyone down, and I'm not naming individuals. As a woman of God, I will not share anything that was told to me in confidence. This is only about business.
Why I Stepped Away
God made it clear to me last year, in 2025, when I saw a manifestation that was not of Him at the 2025 conference. I did not walk in full obedience then. Instead, I gave this year, 2026, as an opportunity to make things right.
I went directly to the founder, because that is what Matthew 18:15 calls us to do. I asked to come to the table and have a business conversation. I thought we were friends, and during that time many conversations were had, but they never involved business. They were only about personal life, and I was ready to talk business. That business conversation never happened, not face to face and not even by phone. Instead, it played out through the emails and voice notes I sent, and the response I received was lackluster. When I finally stood up fully for myself, the energy was clear. There was no accountability, no admission that I am owed money, and no payment of the funds due. Without answers, there was nothing left to talk about.
This did not become public until after several people, myself included, shared publicly that we were no longer working with Turn Up. It was only when I saw the founder and her team respond with retaliation to others, that I chose to speak.
So I'm choosing obedience now.
To my Christ warriors: if you have been feeling the Holy Spirit speak to you, I need you to hear Him clearly.
Here are the key concerns behind my decision.
1. Pay for Master Trainers and Choreographers
Instructor training, choreography, and master training take real time, skill, and sacrifice. The pay for that work did not match the value those people brought. Do better…
2. Pay for My Own Work
In 2019, I agreed to a lesser rate because of the mission. That agreement has not been honored. My rates have not changed since then. My event rate is $250 per hour, and you can see it on my website. I was also reached out to for photography and video content, and I was not paid for that work.
In 2024, I finally set a boundary with the event coordinator. I said I would not be doing certain things, and that I would work the hours that were paid for and deliver what that covered. I received a very different energy in response.
3. Percentages and Mini Sessions
Percentages were asked of others, and I was told I should be grateful that a percentage of my mini session profits was not being requested. While the comment may have been made in the midst of laughter… my response was “Girl Byyyyyyyeeeeee”. The absolute AUDACITY!!!
For context, I was paid between $2,000 and $2,500 for the entire four day conference, not per day. I worked 8 hours or more each of those days. For my fellow creatives, I KNOW this isn’t INDUSTRY STANDARD and I’m ashamed I accepted it. The only way to make a profit and not go into debt after overall expenses was to book mini sessions outside of my conference coverage, which doubled my workload across those four days. That is a very small amount for the amount of content that was delivered and then used. If there were ever any concerns about the quality of that content, they needed to be shared and communicated with me and never was I ever consulted if there was quality issues. Being told to be grateful in that situation does not reflect the value of that work.
I always gave more than what I was paid for, because I thought I was helping people. Every other major brand I have worked with has paid my hourly rate. But I did it out of love, and I did it out of community because sharing our gifts is what God calls for us to do.
4. Unclear Expectations and Contracts
There was no clear explanation of what was wanted or what the contracts needed to say. Even so, things were spoken about with full confidence, as if everything was already figured out. That left people guessing and made it hard to agree to anything clearly.
5. Conflict, Accountability, and Authenticity
It was near impossible to discuss conflict directly, due to repetitive avoidance measures by the creator. While not all issues need a response, not responding in a timely fashion or at all is not professional when the information being requested is for the brand benefit.. When concerns came up, I did not see accountability, even when wise counsel was given. I also have concerns about whether people were being treated with sincerity, and how that affected trust.
6. Programs Built With Others
Programs such as Turn Up and Tone and The Lab were initially created in collaboration with other people. Most of those collaborators may not come from a professional dance fitness or dance background, or from owning a small business, which made it even more important that they be guided well and paid fairly.
Instead, after the programs were launched, the co-creators and original creators were not adequately paid and were not given their just due.
7. Partners and Team Members
Past business partners were let go, and I have concerns about the reasons. Reactionary responses are commonly experienced in the space…
8. The Original Squad and Those Afraid to Speak
The original squad has its own concerns, and many of them may not feel comfortable sharing them.
Within Turn Up, several people have sent me messages saying they are scared to say their truth, because they do not want the retaliation they see happening to others. I understand that fear.
I'm not afraid. Fear of NO MAN. God is my source
9. How Connections and Influence Were Used
The connections of others were used for benefit. Instructors were selected not by talent alone, but by things like their location, age, race, and the influence they had in their own communities. Strategy utilization is wise but not under the guise of deceiving others or misuse of their resources for personal gain..
Some were then told they were not talented enough, after being taken through the entire process. I believe that was known from the beginning and it was spoken of often.
10. Master Training Season
The audition and selection process was chaotic and confusing for many people. Most master trainers were also stepping into something they had never experienced before. Many did not come from a professional dance background or with this unique type of experience, and I believe they were taken advantage of and not stewarded well.
Instructions were often unclear
There was not enough time to adjust their own personal lives and responsibilities
They were told they had to be in certain places, by plane, train, or car, on very short notice
They were told, in effect, that they must not really want it if they could not make it
They gave all of that time and travel without being paid for the training period
Opportunity should never come at the cost of someone's well-being, family, or finances.
11. How Instructors and Students Were Spoken About
Some instructors and students were spoken about in a disparaging way when their dance skill was not as strong. Jealousy for those that built large communities or surpassed your online reach… Ego much? Please note - this still happens OFTEN
12. Talking Money to a Women Empowerment Audience
Speakers talked about money in front of an audience where many people are in financial decline and are working hard just to afford a seat in the room. Where does this empower? Telling the audience that they should PAY YOU 3k for a Mastermind course… Are you serious? Yet, you owe MANY WOMEN.
Many people in the room were given free access to the conference. A business can make its own decisions. But for the instructors who saved up their money for flights, hotels, conference fees, and VIP, and then found out their counterparts did not have to pay for at least the registration, it shows unfair and unjust practices…
13. Conference Refunds and Transfers
Concerns about refund and transfer options, including for people who faced major health issues and could not attend. Do BETTTTTTEEEEEERRRRRRR
14. The 2026 Conference VIP Experience
Concerns about whether the VIP experience matched what was promised. Girl… seriously?
15. Spiritual Alignment
As a Christian, I cannot align with tarot card readings, seances, or witchcraft, and I believe they open doors we should not be opening. I was not aware of these practices at first. Once I was made aware, I could not unsee it, and I'm standing on God's business. If you’ve been feeling a battle… please know that our connections to others who welcome alternate entities pass on through our connection. Spiritual warfare is not a myth.
16. Conference Entertainment
At two conferences, male entertainment was brought into a women's empowerment environment, and people (myself included) were not told beforehand that it was going to take place. That does not align with my values. I will not speak on the additional inclusion that is being discussed; as you already know I’m conflicted on this issue. My inclusion here was under the pretense of him helping you with your BUSINESS issues… again wise counsel was not adhered to.
17. My Part in All of This
Even though I addressed many issues in real time or after prayer. I stayed silent when I should have spoken, and I compromised my values. I'm not exempt from this lesson. I'm learning it right alongside you.
This Is Not About Money
I know the story may be told that I am disgruntled because I was not paid what I was already due. This is not about that.
This is about the response to people choosing to leave, and about my reflection over the past seven years. I advocated for this space under the belief that it was built for women's empowerment, and I'm going to keep advocating for women's empowerment now.
Empowerment is not diminishing someone's power because you don't like what they say. We can have conflict and disagreement in an amicable way, and still highlight each other and show love.
The Response So Far
Several people have stepped away from Turn Up around the same time. I know that is hard for the creator, and I take no joy in it.
What I'm sad to see is how it has been handled. Since people began leaving, the response from the founder and her team has included emails that people have described as threatening, and removing people from their communities for commenting or asking questions about their own personal experiences.
I'm not going to say more than that here. I'll let those actions speak for themselves. If you consider yourself called to Christ, you know how He treats people who are hurting and asking questions. Just as God spoke to me again and again, if you are walking with Christ, your conviction will set in. Listen to it.
To the Creator
If you are wondering how I have the time to give energy to this, it is the same way I did when it was in support of your brand. I made the time, even when I did not have it. When I am laser focused, you are either benefiting from that focus, or you are on the other side of it. You’re welcome for the first 7 years of laser focus… the remaining time meh. Again… I absolutely welcome you to send ME one of those emails of legal action… pick on someone who knows how to fight with resources.
As an FYI - because I know you don’t know much about my corporate life… I’m a former Advocacy Compliance advisor boo, my receipts know how to stay focused on the issue at hand. Again, you’re welcome.
Where We Go From Here
I'm going to take the time I need to pray, heal, and choose my words carefully, so that when I speak, I speak in obedience and not in hurt.
Here is what I'm asking of you:
Pray for everyone involved, including those who are hurting and those who are still choosing to stay in rebellion.
Ask questions with an open heart, and go to the original source for what is not mine to tell.
Use your discernment. Test what you see and hear against what God says, and don't idolize humans.
Choose peace, and make your life decisions as you need to.
My doors are open, my connections stay, and I will keep showing up with grace. I will also keep standing on my values, and those of us who left in peace deserve to be treated with respect.
As always I love you as God commands and pray for God to bless you with HIS PRESENCE.

My Testimony: Why I Stepped Away From Turn Up Dance Fitness
How It Started
Seventeen years ago, after my son was born, I stepped into the world of dance fitness. I was a mother, a wife, and a soldier in the Army, and I loved every one of those roles. But they carried a lot of responsibility, and they were hard. Somewhere in the middle of it all, I stopped feeling like Tamika.
I needed something for me. If I'm being honest, what I really needed was more of God. Instead, I found dance, and through it I found community. For me, that has always been ministry. No matter what you're walking through, you can come together, put the music on, and dance.
The Community I Built
I built community through genuine connections, not to be popular, but because I knew who God was calling me to be, and I knew He placed certain people in my life for that. Community is my life purpose. I live it in my workplace, in my business, and in any room I walk into. I still fail on a regular basis, and that's okay, because holding ourselves accountable and changing our behavior is what builds my respect for people.
In the beginning, I was part of a different dance fitness format. When I was stationed in upstate New York, there wasn't much diversity and there weren't many opportunities for the dance fitness community, so I set out to build the space I wanted to see. I brought in my friends, who are incredibly talented, to share their excellence and their ability to breathe life into people. Many people came together at those events to connect. Because of who I serve, I walk in the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Along the way, my love of photography grew. I'm self-taught, it hasn't always been perfect, and I'm still learning as a creative, especially in the space of video content. That format later paid me to photograph their conventions and events, and those friendships I cherish forever. Eventually, the friends I had been celebrating and collaborating with were not being treated well. I have a high justice meter, and there's only so long I can stand it. So that chapter ended. I'm not going to get into it, and I don't regret any of it.
Opportunities Come From God, and the Enemy Uses Them Too
Let me be very clear: some of the opportunities that came to me, I never searched for. They came because of God. I didn't even feel worthy, as a creative, of some of the work I was asked to do.
But I also have to admit that not every opportunity is from God. Please don't get it twisted: the enemy uses opportunities too, as a false sense of hope, to distract you from your purpose. I'm not always certain which is which.
I know that regardless, God will use it for His will.
A Word From God
While I was doing that work, the founder of Turn Up saw me in my element, as a creative doing what I do. When I first met her, God gave me a word to share with her. As strange as that may sound, I know when the Holy Spirit is speaking to me, and I obeyed.
He told me He was going to bless her with something, and that she was to steward it well.
That word came before the blessing ever did (Luke 12:48).
The Agreement in 2019
In 2019, she invited me to come alongside Turn Up. I already had my own photography business, so I gave her my rate. She told me she couldn't pay it because she was just starting out. She shared the mission, women's empowerment, and I agreed to a lesser rate because of that mission. The EMPTY Promise - that once the business made a profit, I would be paid my original rate.
I said yes under one condition: if it ever stopped aligning with my values, I would not be able to stay.
Today, Turn Up has grown, there are funds, and my rates haven't changed. Along the way, I learned that others weren't being paid fairly or treated well, and I advocated for them directly to the founder. What I failed to do was advocate for myself, and I own that. When I finally did try, I was met with deflection, avoidance, and no accountability.
Where I Fell Short
I wish I could say I held to my condition right away, but I didn't. Over the years, there were things I didn't agree with as a Christian, and I compromised on what I said I wouldn't.
If I’m truly honest and I’m sure she agrees…I should have left a long time ago, and I'm sorry to my Savior for the moments I lost a little of myself.
My Rebellion
Let me be clear. At the conference in 2025, when I stood up and spoke God's name, that was intentional. In that moment, God told me I could not come back, and that He was not in the space. I prayed with some of you afterward, and I still knew I couldn't come back. The 1st day… I knew. A conversation backstage that I’m sure to many seemed small… was a reminder that I can’t choose two masters.
But I wanted to. I didn't want to leave the community, and I thought I was doing something good, even when things around me weren't spiritually aligned. So I did not walk in full obedience. Instead, I gave her this year, 2026, as an opportunity.
I don't do social media drama. That is not who I am. Matthew 18:15 says that when there is an offense, we go to the person directly, and that is what I did. But when someone disregards it, or feels that sharing my name on social media counts as an opportunity instead of paying me for my services, I have to be honest about where that leaves me... I gave seven years of effort, and the numbers don't align.
But it's not even about the money. It's about the treatment of the community that was built, and it not being stewarded well. I am not motivated by world possessions.. I’m motivated by purpose driven work. I have done many things for the sake of sharing the gifts God gave me. I can be the ultimate cheerleader, and I may have hyped up some things I should have questioned. I own that. But here we are, and I can't co-sign a direct disregard for people and for empathy.
Why I'm Left
One thing is certain about God: He will keep giving me the lesson, and He'll make it really hard to stay in rebellion (Hebrews 12:6).
Today, I'm coming out of rebellion and into obedience.
I'm not leaving to tear anyone down. I'm leaving because God is leading me.
Some of you asked me directly what was happening, especially around the 2026 conference, which I was not at. Out of respect, and out of obedience to God, I stayed silent. After I gave much grace, a full explanation as to my thoughts on the business issues… Tanci made the decision that I should have made for myself. As many of you can see, a lot has been happening behind the scenes. There are things I've chosen not to say, so I don't affect anyone else's experience, because I truly understand that for some of you this community is life-changing. What I do implore you to do is use discernment, and do not idolize people.
To the Founder
I'm speaking directly to you. God told you to steward the blessing He was going to give you, and He told you before He ever gave it. I implore you to study what stewardship really is, because this isn't it.
I love you because Christ calls me to love you. I've poured so much into this format, and into YOU, hoping you would see that God is in all of us, even when we reject Him. Please don't mistake grace for acceptance or bowing down to Queen Tanci (because “these Bitc… pay me as you so eloquently stated). Romans 6 asks if we should keep sinning so grace can increase, and the answer is absolutely not. Additionally, please stop using God as a marketing tool when the actions don't reflect Him, and stop opening doors to the enemy. Please understand that this method is using my spiritual wisdom… I’m trying my absolute best to not respond to you in my fleshly sense. Writing it down always helps for me… it takes the perspective to the another level. Also I’m not crying on the internet about my poor decision to support poor character. Try and control your peeps who want to advocate on your behalf as today was THE DAY because… one of em decided to bully someone for speaking their truth. Pleassssssseeeeeeeeeee don’t activate the release of evidence you KNOW I hold of the true character… my fleshly part would have fun. I recommend that you be LED by the ACTUAL CREATOR/MASTER before offering “mastermind education” to the community you don’t truly see for their value. My spirit is tired but I know the true MASTER and we can only have #1.
I don't want this to be the end of Turn Up. Let this be a turnaround. Let it be you finding true direction, and an opportunity for God to turn up your spiritual ears and your heart. It is the end of many of our relationships with Turn Up, because our values don't align and THIS TOO SHALL PASS.
My disappointment isn't only in what's happening. It's really in myself, because I didn't hold myself accountable in the moments I knew I should have. I'm hurt, and I'm going to let that hurt lead me to make the changes I need to make. I pray you do the same.
To the Community
I know many of you are hurting for different reasons, and I'm not taking that away from you. I'm sorry that so many of you are hurt, including in some of the collaborations had, and I'm sorry to anyone I hurt by staying quiet when you wanted clarity with words that should have been spoken. For every season, there is a reason and I’m grateful for the opportunity to connect with EACH OF YOU!
I will always call for forgiveness. Colossians 3:13 says to forgive as the Lord forgave us. Forgiveness isn't for the person who may have caused the harm, whether it was intentional or not. It's for us, because it's what God calls us to do, and we can all be redeemed. I keep my connections because God calls me to be connected to them.
In entrepreneurship, we choose to collaborate, and it matters that we collaborate with purpose. When God introduces someone in my life, I watch the fruit and we all fall short but GOD RESTORES PURPOSE. That purpose shouldn't be just money, clout, popularity, or likes. It should be about stewarding the blessings well and passing them on to others. Positivity is a domino effect, and so is negativity. That's why I'm calling you to heal.
Allow God to heal you, and be led by the true source.
The True Source Is God
Not a person, not a place, not a dance, not a format, not the music, not tarot cards, not psychics, not witchcraft.
There is always better, there is always more, and there is always a reason to choose joy. The world is chaotic, and I just wanted to make a small impact where I could. That doesn't stop. My doors are open, and my love for you is the same.
Thank you for letting me be part of your journey. I love you, and God bless you.

Reflections from the Sixth TURN UP Dance Fitness™️ Conference
There have been some divine connections over the past several years that I cannot ignore. Those connections are what led me into the TURN UP Dance Fitness space, and in the past couple of years, I’ve had a deeper awareness of what God is calling me to do. The more I stay open, the more I allow myself to be strengthened and stretched like Gumby! lol The more I’ve grown and been humbled by the blessings. He continues to place the right people in my life… including my fellow squad sisters.
This year’s conference was eye opening to say the least. So many divine connections came full circle and were solidified in ways that gave me chills. Not out of fear, but out of knowing. Knowing that alignment is necessary. Knowing that alignment will always be my goal, because I am purposeful. And this conference gave me confirmation after confirmation that I’m hearing God clearly on where I’m supposed to be.
Of course, the conference had all the things we love… the dancing, the music, the energy, the late-night laughs. But what I’ll carry the most is the heart work. The speaker poured life into us, and I truly heard God in that moment. So much so, I heard the Holy Spirit command to say HIS NAME YAHWEH. It wasn’t just hype…it was healing.
To everyone who trusted me with your photographic experience, your videos, or even just your open heart and stories… thank you. You are not just clients, you are my squad sisters, and I am so grateful for the way you pour back into me too. This year I slowed down, spent more time in the moment, and truly enjoyed being present with you. That gift is priceless, and I’ll carry it forward.
And now for the part you’ve been waiting for… the gallery is live. Photos, videos, all the memories are right here: View the Gallery. You can purchase and download directly from the link. Please don’t screenshot… Be kind :).
I love y’all. Thank you for making this sixth conference unforgettable. I pray that you’re evolving and embracing the unknown! xoxo

Preparing for Your Boudoir Photo Shoot: 15 Tips to Shine with Confidence
A boudoir session is so much more than just taking pictures—it’s a journey. It’s about reconnecting with yourself, embracing the fullness of who you are, and allowing your soul to be seen in a way that is raw, powerful, and beautifully divine.
One of my favorite things about being your photographer is that I get to see you the way I believe God created you.. fearfully, wonderfully, and intentionally made. Every curve, every detail, every expression is a reflection of the beauty that already exists within you. My job? To hold up a mirror so you can finally see yourself in all your glory.
And as we say in the TURN UP world, this is about living authentically. This session is an opportunity to shed the layers of self-doubt, to step into the version of yourself that has always been there, waiting to be fully embraced. So here’s to opening your mind, speaking life into your spirit, and stepping boldly into your own divine energy.
Are you ready? Let’s make magic together.
1. You’ve Already Chosen the Right Photographer…Now Let’s Create Art.
Since you’re here, that means you’ve trusted Tamika LaJoyce Photography to capture your essence, and I do not take that lightly. This is a safe space for you to be bold, to be soft, to be YOU!
2. Plan Your Outfits with Intention
- Bring 3-5 outfits that make you feel powerful. Lingerie is a classic, but don’t be afraid to mix in bodysuits, silk robes, or even something as simple as an oversized button-down.
- Choose fabrics and styles that feel **good** on your skin—when you feel good, it shows.
- Accessories like stockings, garters, or a statement necklace can add the perfect finishing touch.
3. Speak Life Into Your Reflection
- Look at yourself in the mirror…not just your body, but YOURSELF!
- Say it out loud: “I AM DIVINE. I AM POWERFUL, I AM WORTHY.”
- Your mindset is the most important thing you’ll bring to this session.
4. Indulge in Self-Care
- A fresh manicure, glowing skin, and a relaxed body will have you feeling amazing.
- If you wax or shave, do it **a day or two before** to prevent irritation.
- Hydrate, stretch, and maybe even book a massage—you deserve it.
5. Nourish Yourself
- Drink plenty of water for radiant skin.
- Eat light, healthy meals before your session so you feel your best.
6. Prioritize Rest
- A well-rested body and mind will make all the difference in your energy.
7. Avoid Alcohol and Salty Foods Before Your Shoot
- They can cause bloating and dehydration. Stick to water and nourishing meals instead.
8. Bring Meaningful Props
- A silk robe, a book, a piece of jewelry… these little things can add depth to your story.
9. Share Your Vision with Me
- This is about YOU… if there’s a specific vibe you’re dreaming of, tell me.
- If you have any insecurities, I want to know. I will pose, light, and capture you in ways that highlight your natural beauty.
10. Wear Loose Clothing Before the Shoot
- Avoid marks from tight bras or leggings by wearing something soft and comfy beforehand.
11. Bring a Hype-Woman (If That Feels Right for You)
- If a trusted friend makes you feel safe and empowered, bring them along.
12. Hype Yourself Up! I’m here to hype you up as well, but the key is YOU!
- This is YOUR moment. Play your favorite music, dance in the mirror, and step into your power.
13. Choose Lingerie That Celebrates Your Body
- High-waisted panties, lace corsets, or even an elegant slip—whatever makes you feel UNSTOPPABLE.
14. Decide on Hair and Makeup
- Professional makeup can elevate your confidence (I can recommend amazing artists!).
- If doing your own, keep it polished and enhance your natural beauty.
15. Trust the Process & Enjoy Every Second
- This is not about perfection…it’s about PRESENCE. Let go, be free, and trust that you are MORE THAN ENOUGH!

So, let’s dig deep… cause ya know I love to SEE you, so YOU can see the beauty God created you in! Let’s get into the essentials to help you get ready to shine like the star you are!
What to Wear: Dress to Impress and Express
First things first – we need to nail down that outfit. Think of it as your suit of Baddie armor for the day. Here’s how to pick the perfect ensemble:
Color Coordination: Go for colors that make you feel alive. Deep reds, bold blues, or even a crisp white – choose shades that highlight your personality and make you pop against any backdrop.
Patterns and Textures: Small, subtle patterns can be fabulous. Textures like leather, denim, or lace add dimension and can photograph beautifully. Remember, the goal is to complement your style, not compete with it.
Fit and Comfort: It’s all about finding that sweet spot between looking fierce and feeling at ease. Whether it’s your favorite pair of jeans or a flowy dress, make sure you can move, groove, and pose comfortably.
Accessory Game: Keep it chic and simple. A bold necklace, stylish hat, or those statement shoes can add that extra oomph to your look. Just don’t go overboard – let your outfit be the main act.
Seasonal Swag: Dress for the weather, boo. It’s FLORIDA… in the summer! Some of you have elected to do a few environmental shots outside… remember it’s August in Florida. Being comfortable means you’ll be more relaxed and ready to rock the session. Wear items that
Quick Tip: Can’t decide on just one outfit? Bring a couple of options. I’m here to help you pick the one that makes you feel like a million bucks.
Posing Techniques: Find Your Best Angles
The "Fierce Hair Flip" Pose: Loosen Up and Feel Fabulous!
Ladies, sometimes you just need to let your hair down—literally! Take a min… trust me!!! Try this super fun and easy pose to shake off any jitters and get into your groove:
1. Flip It Out: Stand tall, take a deep breath, and give your hair a big, sassy flip. You can toss it over your shoulder or just shake it out like you’re in a shampoo commercial.
2. Strike a Pose: After the flip, strike a pose that makes you feel confident and fierce. Hands on hips, or give a playful over-the-shoulder look.
3. Laugh and Repeat: Don’t be afraid to laugh at yourself. The goal is to have fun and feel fabulous. Do a few flips and see which one makes you laugh the most.
This playful move is a great way to break the ice and bring out your natural, carefree spirit. So, go ahead and channel your inner diva – flip that hair and get ready to shine!
Posing can feel tricky, but with a bit of practice, you’ll be posing like a pro in no time. Here’s how to get your angles on point:
Mirror, Mirror: Spend a few minutes in front of the mirror exploring different poses. I challenge you… for the next month… Find your best angles and practice them. Truly, look at yourself in the mirror and be nice to the woman in the mirror. Speak life and appreciate your uniqueness in every glance. This little prep work can make a huge difference.
Posture Power: Stand tall, shoulders back, and core engaged. Confidence radiates through good posture, and it’ll make your portraits look amazing.
Movement Magic: Don’t be afraid to move. Walk, twirl, or even strike a fierce TURN UP pose! Dynamic shots are full of life and energy – just like you!
Hand Placement: Keep your hands relaxed and natural. Try putting them in your pockets, resting them on your hips, or lightly holding a prop.
Face the Facts: Play around with different facial expressions. Smile, smirk, or even try a serious look. Variety in your expressions keeps your portraits interesting and engaging.
Quick Tip: Need a little pre conference inspo? Check out some TikTok or YouTube tutorials on posing. You’ll be amazed at how quickly you can level up your game. Sneak tip - I’ll be showcasing some posing tutorials this month on IG. Stay tuned :)
Makeup and Hair: Glam Up Your Look
Make it stand out!
Now, let’s talk beauty prep. Whether you’re going for a natural look or full-on glam, here’s how to get camera-ready:
Skin Prep: Start with a clean, moisturized face. Consider using a primer to keep your makeup fresh and your skin looking flawless throughout the session.
Makeup That Pops: Go a bit bolder than your everyday look. Amp up those eyes with some liner or lashes, and add a touch of highlight to make those cheekbones pop. You want your features to stand out beautifully in the photos.
Hair Flair: Style your hair in a way that makes you feel unstoppable. Whether it’s loose curls, a sleek ponytail, or a funky braid, make sure it reflects your personal style.
Be You: While it’s fun to experiment, make sure you still look like yourself. The goal is to enhance your natural beauty, not transform into someone else.
Quick Tip: Bring a mini beauty kit with essentials like blotting papers, your favorite lipstick, and some hairspray for those last-minute touch-ups.
